UT PREP 2 is a 5-week academic enrichment program for graduates of the UT PREP 1 program.

These students will reunite with old friends and continue to build upon what they learned in PREP 1 about science, technology, engineering, mathematics, growth mindset and learning. Courses include Engineering Physics, Algebraic Structures, Advanced Mathematical Problem Solving, Computer Science Level II, and College and Career Exploration.

Each camper recieves individual attention from a Master Teacher and several UT student interns. Throughout their time here at UT, campers will eat lunch in common areas alongside UT students, explore five different research labs and four different facilities on the UT campus, swim in the UT pool, and play sports in the gym. 

How are the students chosen? Students who successfully completed UT PREP 1 will submit grades for the 2019-2020 school year through the 2nd 6th or 9th weeks (additional weeks may be requested), an application (see below), and an essay to apply for the program. Essays must be one page, using the application essay questions as a guideline, and unedited by family members, teachers, or any other individual.


2020 Information

Cost: $2,500 if fully paid and fully registered by December 1st, 2019.

Incomplete applications and those with pending payments received after December 1st will increase by $100 to $2,600.

 Some scholarships are available to students who can provide verification that they qualify for federal free/reduced lunch, pending funding. 

When: Monday–Thursday, 8am–4pm, June 15th –July 23rd. Camp is 5 weeks long. A one-week break will occur in the middle of camp during the week of July 6th
