UT PREP 2 is a 6-week academic enrichment program for graduates of the UT PREP 1 program.
These students will reunite with old friends and continue to build upon what they learned in PREP 1 about science, technology, engineering, mathematics, growth mindset and learning. Courses include Engineering Physics, Algebraic Structures, Advanced Mathematical Problem Solving, Computer Science Level II, and College and Career Exploration.
Each camper recieves individual attention from a Master Teacher and several UT student interns. Throughout their time here at UT, campers will eat lunch in common areas alongside UT students, explore five different research labs and four different facilities on the UT campus, swim in the outdoor UT pool, and play sports in the gym. Three of the four UT PREP 2 classrooms will be clustered in close proximity.
How are the children chosen? Students who successfully completed UT PREP 1 will submit grades for the 2017-2018 school year through the 2nd 6th-weeks (additional weeks may be requested), an application (see below), and an essay to apply for the program. Essays must be one page, hand-written by applicant using the application questions as a guideline, and unedited by family, teacher, or any other individual.
