I’m excited to be a part of the UTeach Outreach team because working with historically underrepresented kids within STEM is something that I feel is incredibly important. This position allows me to gain experience within the behind-the-scenes of a nonprofit organization, particularly from the management and communications aspect of the work. I look forward to working directly with the families participating in the program, and I feel that sharing these first-hand experiences with them will create an encouraging and positive atmosphere for them. I hope to one day work in the non-profit sector, specifically with minority children and families. I want to advocate for and celebrate the talents of young kids, to create a positive impact that will hopefully stick with them for the rest of their lives.
