Irene is from a suburb of Dallas called Wylie, TX. She is currently studying Biology with a certificate in Composite Science Teaching. She joined Outreach because she loves how the program gives so many students the opportunity to explore the field of STEM. As an intern, she hopes she spreads her love and passion for teaching to other UT students. After graduation, she plans on teaching science at a local Austin high school. She later plans on getting a master's in education. What inspires her is a diverse set of students engaged in a classroom who genuinely are enjoying what they are learning. She wants to make others know that learning is fun, that you just need to make the most out of it.
She can't live without coffee! You can probaly catch Irene at a Starbucks, Lucky Lab, or Coffee Traders where she gets her coffee regularly. She also loves to sing and perform on stage. She is a member of Noteworthy Acapella, a co-ed and competitive singing group at UT Austin.
